GVIDI, Deutsche Mailbox, We-TV and EBS create the Program Metadata Alliance GVIDI, Deutsche Mailbox, We-TV and EBS have joined forces to create the Program Metadata Alliance. This new alliance makes it possible to deliver the most accurate EPG metadata to TV providers all over Europe. With more than 2,500 EPG channels, which are updated throughout the day, the Program Metadata Alliance will be one of the most reliable and up-to-date EPG metadata sources for TV providers all over Europe.

GVIDI, Deutsche Mailbox, We-TV and EBS are all leading EPG data provider in their respective home countries. Therefore, it was a natural fit to bring them all together in cooperation to offer network operators and video service providers the most comprehensive, accurate and technically reliable enriched video program metadata from across the alliance network.

The EPG content from the alliance, includes accurate and localized program descriptions, and images for over 2,500 channels and is further enriched by online sources throughout the day. This ensures the latest information is made available to customers, enabling them to deliver a superior content discovery experience to their end-users.

About dmb
The deutsche mailbox (www.deutschemailbox.de) has been an independent partner of television stations and publishers for more than 25 years. dmb manages and provides programming data for more than 800 TV stations and radio broadcasters. Programming data is processed and enriched according to the specifications of interested parties. Data can be viewed as needed: in a continuous data stream or at dmb’s online platform, the dmb.media.net portal. This portal is rapidly consolidating its status as the industry standard. In the area of TV data, dmb offers a wide range of services for publishing houses and television stations. dmb’s bespoke solutions for TV broadcasters include a programming data service, image data service, and complete press lounge. These basic services are supplemented by a media-watch and competitor-monitoring tool, news distribution features, and program scheduling systems. The portfolio is rounded off with a high-capacity image and media database.
About We-TV
The French based company We-TV has already been operating in TV program related sectors for 30 years. The company obtains data from about 600 TV programs. These data is edited according to strict intern quality requirements, proprietary texts and images is added and the data is used for printed and online products. In addition to the own database, which allows a very economic use, thanks to a very high level of automation, We-TV offers their customers systems that enables cooperative production, customized selections without causing additional efforts over long distances as well as building and maintaining their own database. Besides the traditional creation of printed products, which also includes complete TV magazines, We-TV has been developing digital services for 20 years, therefore a rich and ready for use range of complete electronic services for EPG Data, linear and non-linear television as well as social media. We-TV also owns a database for graphical content, containing more than three million images from TV, cinema or celebrities, for which the company owns the rights. Eventually, We-TV has a pool of about 500.000 videos (Trailer, Teaser, Features...) of which the rights are also clear. The originally French company is market leader on the domestic market and above that is also to be found in the Benelux region, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. EBS is a UK-based, full service provider of EPG data and metadata for platforms and channels worldwide. Founded in 1988, EBS New Media Ltd has developed the company’s flagship, in-house scheduling application, Pawa for both linear and on demand television, covering four areas: TV Channel Services, TV Platform Services, Download-to-Own/VoD and TV Listings Services. EBS has a team of experienced editors who research and write EPG synopses, and provide further editorial, translation and distribution services.
